GREAT VALUE FOR THE ECONOMY OF ARAGON

Thanks to the availability of this communications hub, the rhythm of exports was not only maintained, but grew, during the pandemic, showing ones of the strength of the Aragonese productive fabric.

GROWTH AND INCREASING STRENGTH

Destinations are growing and cold storage specialization is stronger than ever. The tmZ forecasts continued growth and further strengthening of its agri-food expertise and will therefore continue to support cold storage specialization.

Regarding trade destinations, the Asian market continues to be the strongest option to improve Aragon’s export volume while always keeping an eye on any changes in market trends.

LOGISTICS HUB

The Zaragoza Maritime Terminal is the leading inland intermodal hub in Spain and meets all the conditions to be a strategic location for the exchange of goods with all of Europe.

The connectivity upgrades planned will allow it surpass the limitations of road transport as it increases the development of sustainable transport, the railway.

FUTURE

The future extension will see the reception of 750 metre-long supertrains, instead of the current 550 metre ones, increasing efficiency and reducing transport costs.

At present, the main flow of trains of the tmZ go to the Port of Barcelona but it also has connections to Algeciras, Bilbao and Vigo.

We are working so that all Spanish ports capable of shipping and receiving goods for Aragon have a connection with the Maritime Terminal.
